This was a very different commission, with 4 dogs - 2 deceased. The challenge was getting a satisfactory layout. By getting all 4 dogs looking towards each other, I think it worked out well.
After deciding the layout, this is the first stage - pen & ink drawing.

These are the 4 photos that I chose to work from. Fortunately the client had several photos of the dogs, which is always hard to obtain when a pet has passed on.
